Donald Trump upstaged Barack Obama again — this time during the lame duck’s farewell speech.
While many liberals were panting over Obama’s long goodbye, Trump dominated the headlines amid fake news claims that Russia had “compromising” information on him.
CNN stirred the rumor mill by claiming Russia had a secret blackmail dossier on Trump. Leftist website BuzzFeed followed up by publishing the unverified dossier that other media outlets refused to publish because they couldn’t verify the allegations.
Buzzfeed even admitted that the claims against Trump were erroneous and unconfirmed: “The allegations are unverified, and the report contains errors.”
But naturally, the liberal “fake news” purveyor published the dossier anyway in a cheap bid for page views.
BuzzFeed editor-in-chief Ben Smith admitted: “There is serious reason to doubt the allegations.”

While the left was hoping these unsubstantiated claims would damage Trump, the opposite happened, with both liberal and conservative journalists blasting CNN and BuzzFeed’s shoddy reporting.
So instead of fawning over Obama’s race-baiting farewell speech, most people were discussing Trump’s fake dossier and “golden showers” (a reference to claims that Trump had hired prostitutes to urinate on a hotel bed that the Obamas once stayed in).
Dare I say, leave it to Trump to piss all over Obama's farewell speech night.

President Obama deserves so much better than to have his farewell address hijacked by news about Trump and his golden showers.

Meanwhile, the Kremlin trashed Buzzfeed and CNN’s reports as “no more than fiction,” and denied it had a blackmail dossier on Trump.

Even radical leftists like Julia Ioffe, who suggested Trump was having sex with his daughter Ivanka, refused to publish the story, saying it was “impossible to verify.”
Okay, fellow journalists, raise your hand if you too were approached with this story. (I was.)
— Julia Ioffe (@juliaioffe) January 10, 2017
Because it was impossible to verify. (I tried.)

You know a report is FAKE NEWS when anti-Trump Mother Jones editor David Corn is defending Trump.
“Even Donald Trump deserves journalistic fairness,” Corn tweeted.
3. I accurately characterized the memos-this is important stuff-but didn't publish details. Even Donald Trump deserves journalistic fairness

ABC News reporter Steve Irvin tweeted: “Real journalists have standards.”

WikiLeaks, which has a 100% record of accurate authentication, also weighed in.
WikiLeaks has a 100% record of accurate authentication. We do not endorse Buzzfeed's publication of a document which is clearly bogus.

Trump attorney Michael Cohen — who was accused in the fake news report of having traveled to Prague in August 2016 to talk to Kremlin officials — has never been to Prague.
— Michael Cohen (@MichaelCohen212) January 11, 2017
The fake news story has already fallen apart, as CNN anchor Jake Tapper was forced to admit that another “Michael Cohen” (not Trump’s attorney) had been to Prague this summer.

Fake-news outlet NBC also reported that Trump was never briefed on the “blackmail dossier,” even though NBC (and all liberal media) bleated around the clock yesterday that he had been briefed.

A disgusted Trump called the incident yet another lame attempt by fake news shillers to smear his presidency.
FAKE NEWS – A TOTAL POLITICAL WITCH HUNT!

At a press conference Wednesday, Trump refused to call on a CNN reporter, saying: “You are fake news.”
