Veteran Rockette has a message for media whore colleagues complaining about Trump inauguration

A veteran retired Rockette has a message for members of the iconic dance troupe: Grow up.

Patty DeCarlo Grantham, president of the 552-member Rockette Alumnae Association, is disgusted with the whining among some Rockettes who refuse to perform at Donald Trump‘s presidential inauguration.

Grantham, who performed with the Rockettes from 1959 to 1970, says the dancers’ primary job is to entertain — not to seek self-promotion by bleating political messages.

“The only thing the Rockettes should be focused on is performing for our nation and helping unite us all with the joy, love, beauty and strength for which they are famous,” Grantham told the NY Post

Grantham says the Rockettes who slam Trump because they disagree with him politically are being childish and unprofessional, because being a Rockette transcends politics. Besides, it’s always an honor to perform for the president of United States, no matter who he is, Grantham added.

“Like the millions of people who are true Rockette fans, we cannot wait to see the Rockettes proudly ‘strut their stuff’ for the upcoming inauguration of the President of the United States,” Grantham gushed.

Grantham said the Rockettes who are protesting are merely seeking their 15 minutes of fame. “I think it’s an opportunity for people who want to get publicity to get publicity,” she said.

Grantham was responding to the controversy started by Phoebe Pearl, who whined in a since-deleted Instagram post how unhappy she was that the Rockettes will be performing at Trump’s presidential inauguration. A few of Pearl’s colleagues supported her decision.

The Rockettes have since announced that no dancer is obligated to perform at the January 20 inauguration.

While protesting dancers have blasted Trump for his alleged racism and sexism, it turns out the Rockettes are segregation holdouts that didn’t hire black dancers until 1987.

The Rockettes were founded in 1925 and did not allow black dancers for 62 years. So who’s the racist again?
