DIVA live meltdown! ‘With 15 minutes remaining, 2016 claimed its final victim: Mariah Carey’s career’

Mariah Carey provided the world with the final disaster of 2016 as she performed at “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest.”

Ever the diva, the 46-year-old pop star arrived at the event with her boyfriend and backup dancer, 33-year-old Bryan Tanaka, who carried Carey to the stage with the help of a friend.

Unfortunately for Carey, her beau couldn’t help her through the epic disaster that was her performance about 20 minutes before the famed ball dropped in Times Square.

The superstar singer had a tantrum on stage when the music for her hit “Emotions” played and she stomped around the stage like a petulant child because, she said, “‘We didn’t have a [sound] check for this song… we’re missing some of the vocals, but it is what it is. I’m just going to let the audience sing. We didn’t have a soundcheck for this New Year’s baby, it is what it is.”

“Get these monitors on please,” she ordered.

The singer briefly tried to dance but gave that up and decided to have her dancers attempt to do a lift they had planned.

“I wanted a holiday too, can’t I just have one,” Carey, who reportedly has a net worth of $520 million, complained as the first song ended.

But things didn’t get better when the second song, “We Belong Together,” played.

Carey started out lip syncing to the music but then continued her tantrum as she stomped around the stage and moved the microphone away from her mouth as her voice continued to boom over the speakers making it known that she wasn’t singing live.

She ended the performance being surrounded by feathers as she sarcastically declared “it just don’t get any better.

Hours later she posted to social media that “s**t happens” with seemingly little care that she made a fool out of herself in front of millions of viewers.

Social media users lambasted Carey.

Singer Josh Groban was one of them, but he later deleted his tweet that read “Any time one of the greatest voices of my generation lip syncs an angel loses its wings.”

He was kind compared to others who mocked the superstar.
