Because he knows the people and he gets things done.
Fox News host Chris Wallace asked President-elect Donald Trump what led to his decision to choose a business executive as secretary of state.
Last week Trump added the name of Exxon Mobil CEO Rex Tillerson to his list of candidates for the position, and on Saturday, NBC News reported that Trump had pretty much narrowed down his choices to him.
“He’s much more than a business executive, he’s a world-class player,” Trump said. He proceeded to explain that Tillerson’s management of Exxon and his connections with international figures make him an ideal fit for the job.”
The president-elect made his comments on a pre-recorded interview that will die in its entirety on “Fox News Sunday.”
“To me, a great advantage is he knows many of the players, and he knows them well,” Trump added. “He does massive deals in Russia, he does massive deals for the company.”
