Kaepernick’s Castro praise puts Snoop Dog over the edge, says it might be time to leave football

Rap star Snoop Dogg had some tough advice for Colin Kaepernick amidst his continued social activism.

While he appreciated Kaepernick raising awareness through his ongoing National Anthem protest, Snoop thinks the San Francisco 49ers quarterback needs to choose his priorities.

“If this is what he wants to do, he needs to leave football out of it and just do it full-time,” he said on Fox Sports 1’s “Undisputed.”

The rapper slammed Kaepernick for praising the late Fidel Castro, calling him a hypocrite for protesting social injustice while saluting the Cuban dictator.

“He’s sort of kind of hypocritical in so many words because he’s pushing this, but at the same time he’s giving credit for this and this is the same abuse that [Cubans] been taking” Snoop said. “So it makes you hypocritical to be able to speak on this topic and that topic.”

Kaepernick came under fire after praising Castro at a media event before the 49ers game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

“In the beginning, I understood it thoroughly,” Snoop said. “I’m one who has had situations with the police and I understand where he was coming from. But at the same time, you really have to stand for it. And I don’t believe that he can do that and play football at the same time. ”

The rapper believes Kaepernick needs to make a choice.

“There’s too many rules and regulations and things that he has to deal with as opposed to being a revolutionary,” Snoop said.
