Students assaulted a fellow student wearing a red “Make America Great Again” hat at a walk-out protest against President-elect Donald Trump in Maryland.

Richard Montgomery High School students organized the latest walk-out protest of Trump, leaving class to gather at the county courthouse in Rockville, Md. A sophomore from the high school wearing a Trump campaign hat to the protest was allegedly assaulted by a group of the protesters. After a verbal confrontation the student was punched in the face, knocked to the ground and repeatedly kicked, reports The Washington Post.

Police identified and arrested at least one of the juveniles involved in the incident. Authorities say roughly four students involved in the protest participated in the attack. Police took the student to a local hospital with minor injuries; the sophomore was woozy from the blow to the head.

Witnesses say the Trump supporter joined the march of hundreds and began to argue with anti-Trump protesters. After a parent reportedly tried to diffuse the situation, the sophomore said, “I have my right to free speech too.” Officials intend to charge the juvenile with second degree assault. Police are still investigating the incident and it is unclear if there will be additional arrests or charges, according to WJLA.

Students at the largest public school in Washington, D.C., ditched class Tuesday and took to the streets in protest of Trump. Students in Maryland grabbed national attention Monday for walking out of class, gathering on the football field of their high school and marching through the streets. Eyewitnesses said some drivers slowed down to high-five the students as they passed.

Protests have been erupting across the country since Trump defeated Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. Rioters in Portland, Ore., burned flags and destroyed or damaged storefronts, businesses and cars.
