Guess who was with Hillary as she exited her plane after new Comey letter?

Hillary Clinton received news that FBI Director James Comey was once again not recommending prosecution in her email scandal while her campaign plane was en route to Cleveland. Exiting the aircraft with her was her personal lawyer, Cheryl Mills.

The Guardian’s political correspondent Sabrina Siddiqui reported:

A smile of self-satisfaction, perhaps?

But what was most interesting was who accompanied her down the steps — Mills, who was also Clinton’s chief of staff while she was secretary of state.

Bloomberg Politics correspondent Jennifer Epstein reported:

One person asked:

Indeed it is. In a July 25, 2015 email leaked by WikiLeaks, Clinton campaign chairman John Pedestal suggested as much.

“At least we now know why Cheryl didn’t want her to run,” Podesta wrote to Neera Tanden, head of the Center for American Progress. He said this shortly after it was disclosed that Clinton used a private email server to conduct official business.

And there was something else Mills received from the Justice Department — immunity in exchange for her testimony.

So why the smile and why did Clinton ignore reporters’ questions? Picking out her cabinet, perhaps?

As the late Yogi Berra observed, “It ain’t over till it’s over.” And it ain’t over.
