An MSNBC anchor had to apologize to viewers following a reporter’s live segment during the playing of the national anthem.
MSNBC reporter Jacob Rascon told Tamron Hall back in the studio that it was “a little difficult to hear” her as he reported live from a Donald Trump rally in North Carolina. But as he continued his report, it became clear what the reason was.
Over Rascon’s shoulder, the camera shot showed a woman singing the “Star Spangled Banner” on the stage in the background with the entire auditorium on its feet.
The reporter pressed on, answering Hall’s question about reports that Trump’s national political director resigned.
“And obviously we too, Jascob Rascon, not realizing the programming that is obviously behind him,” Hall explained. “So our respects, of course, to this country and the young lady there singing behind you.”
