CNN breathlessly reports that Hillary manages two debate-prep sessions in one day

With the first of the 2016 presidential debates just hours away, CNN reporter Dan Merica reported that Hillary is doing two-a-days to prep for tonight’s debate.

Apparently, such breathless reporting is meant to reassure Clinton supporters that she is akin to a marathon runner, having completed two whole sessions per day—and two whole days in a row. Perhaps this is meant to reassure Hillary voters that since she can manage two sessions in one day perhaps her health will hold out after all, that she won’t launch into a coughing fit during the debate, needing a rescue by Donald Trump.

Likewise, ABC journalist, Liz Kreutz, made sure to mention Hillary’s impressive stamina.

But on the heels of two event cancellations in two weeks, first California after her infamous “episode” at Ground Zero and then an event in North Carolina last week—both of these fundraising events no less—it should be concerning. The cancellations and rumors of her poor health are perhaps why CNN felt compelled to show her voters that she was “still kicking.”

Hillary Clinton is taking the day off again, she needs the rest. Sleep well Hillary – see you at the debate!

Twitter followers picked up on CNN’s breathless awe of Clinton’s stamina and were having none of it.

The President of the United States has, I am sure, more than one meeting a day (not including golf). The fact Clinton managed two whole sessions in one day is hardly reassuring.

Perhaps CNN ought to have had their cameras outside the Apple Seeds kids center on Sunday, where ABC cameras caught an unsteady Hillary carefully navigating a set of stairs before stiffly climbing into a waiting van.

But at least she didn’t need to be loaded headfirst this time.
