When you hear what Hillary just said about ‘tough vetting,’ you’ll swear she’s channeling Donald Trump!

Is Hillary Clinton climbing into her own “basket of deplorables”?

All of a sudden she’s getting tough on immigration.

Clip via “Fox & Friends” Twitter account:

Referring to the acts of terror committed during the weekend — in New Jersey, New York and Minnesota — the Democratic presidential nominee said “this is the kind of challenge law enforcement can be and is prepared to address, namely, going after anyone who would threaten the United States.”

Then she seemed to hop aboard the Trump train.

“So I am absolutely in favor of and have long been an advocate for tough vetting,” she said. “And not just for people who come here to settle, but we need a better visa system.”

It seems like just last week that Clinton called for a 500 percent increase of Syrian refugees into the United States — hundreds of thousands.

Others took notice too.

When Trump was called out on his statement that Clinton proposed a 500 percent increase in Syrian immigration, even left-of-center fact-checker Politifact had to admit it was true.

Given the poor vetting the first wave of refugees received, bringing in an additional five times that number will only make a bad situation worse.
