Paul Ryan says ‘we’re in a fight to retake the soul of the Republican Party’; gets Laura Ingraham’s attention

During a private meeting with billionaire donors, House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., hinted at a tiff with Donald Trump.

With the Koch brothers alongside him, Ryan said conservatives must “retake the soul” of the Republican Party, according to the Hill.

“We have to do a better job of taking the moral high ground … showing [conservative] ideas in practice,” Ryan said on Monday.

“And it will help us retake the soul of our own party, which we have our own challenges with these days.”

Ryan addressed a room of about 400 donors who have been gathered here since Saturday in a luxury resort at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains for the summer retreat of the Koch network, founded by billionaire brothers Charles and David Koch.

With that, Laura Ingraham lambasted Ryan for failing to learn from Trump’s rise to fame with GOP voters. Check out her response to his remarks to donors:
