Sheriff Clarke: ‘This DNC seems to be about embracing criminality, trying to mainstream criminal behavior’

Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke blasted the Democratic Party for supporting a “flawed candidate” and normalizing criminal behavior.

Commenting on Sen. Cory Booker’s speech at the Democratic convention, Clarke said the New Jersey senator avoided the obvious.

Booker “talked all around a big problem for the Democrats this fall, and that is their flawed candidate, Mrs. Bill Clinton,” Clarke told Fox News’ Megyn Kelly on Monday.

“She’s a confirmed liar,” Clarke said of Clinton, adding that Booker spoke as if the way Clinton “left people to die in Benghazi…wasn’t there.”

“That stuff matters to the American people,” Clarke said.

“This DNC seems to be about embracing criminality and criminal behavior, trying to mainstream criminal behavior,” Clarke said, noting the “stark contrast” with the Republicans and “law and order candidate” Donald Trump.

Clarke noted that the “common denominator” in the recent cases of black men being shot and killed by police officers is that the men were all resisting arrest at the time. He criticized the Democrats for holding up the criminals “as if they’re martyrs, and symbols of the new civil rights movement.”
