Clinton bewails she’s held to unfair ‘Hillary standard’ … Twitter melts down

Hillary Clinton raised more than a few eyebrows in a “60 Minutes” interview aired on Sunday when she dismissed the many allegations of wrongdoings against her as part of an unfair standard she must live up to — which she coined the “Hillary standard.”

“I often feel like there’s the Hillary standard, and then there’s the standard for everybody else,” Clinton said.

Pointing to the Republican convention, she described the standard as “unfounded, inaccurate, mean-spirited attacks with no basis in truth, reality, which take on a life of their own.”

But Clinton wasn’t finished playing the victim in what she sees as a double standard.

“People are very willing to say things about me, to make accusations about me that are, I don’t get upset about them anymore, but they, they are very regrettable,” she added.

Fresh off a reprieve from FBI director James Comey, Clinton’s bemoaning proved to be more than many social media users could stand.

Here’s a sampling of the responses from Twitter:
