Passengers on a Delta flight reported that former NFL star Tim Tebow stepped in to help the crew with a man who was having a medical emergency on board.
According to passenger Richard Gotti, who shared the story on his Facebook page, Tebow left his first-class seat on the Atlanta, Ga. to Phoenix, Ariz. flight to help a man who was experiencing heart trouble on Sunday.
After the crew tried several times to resuscitate the man who had become unconscious, Tebow arrived on the scene.
“He met with the family as they cried on his shoulder! I watched Tim pray with the entire section of the plane for this man. He made a stand for God in a difficult situation,” Gotti wrote.
According to the post, the man’s pulse returned as the plane landed in Phoenix.
According to People Magazine:
“Tebow also helped the family get off the plane, picked up their luggage, and went with them to the hospital. He waited with them until they got the news that the man had passed away. The man, in his 60s, was traveling with his wife and her friend.”
A Delta spokesman confirmed that there had been a medical emergency on board, and that paramedics greeted the plane to get immediate care for the passenger, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
“We can’t say enough about the Delta professionals who care for our customers every day and we are grateful to our customers who are so often quick to extend kindness and care to one another,” said Brian Kruse.
Social media users praised Tebow’s actions.
