A Portland, Oregon mother who discovered a home invader inside one of her children’s bedrooms early Sunday morning made sure he wouldn’t repeat his stunt somewhere else.

Already armed with a handgun, she shot and killed the intruder right where he stood.

The 33-year-old mother of two found the suspect, a 59-year-old male, at about 1:45 when she and her children were returning home, according to Portland NBC affiliate KGW News.

Immediately afterwards she called 911 and reported the incident.

She has cooperated fully with authorities who are still investigating the shooting. An autopsy will be conducted this week.
