A new ABC News/Washington Post poll brought great news for Donald Trump and great cause for concern for Hillary Clinton.
Republicans are coalescing behind their presumptive presidential nominee and that helped boost him to a 2-point lead, 48 – 46, over his likely Democrat opponent in the general election.
It’s a double-digit leap for Trump who, in March, trailed among registered voters by 9 points.
One of the factors that led to Trump’s surge is that Clinton lost 13 points with independent voters in one month, giving Trump a 48 percent to 35 percent lead in that category.
The billionaire also leads among white voters 57 – 33 percent and among men 56 – 34 percent.
Clinton’s inability to put away a 74-year-old socialist in the primary isn’t doing her any favors, either.
The longer Bernie Sanders continues his challenge of Clinton the worse it gets for her with Sanders’ key voting block.
Clinton led Trump among voters under 30 by a whopping 39 percent in March but in this new poll it’s split 45 – 42 in Clinton’s favor.
