Two Internet searches did more than trend at about the same time Sen. Ted Cruz announced Tuesday that he was suspending his presidential campaign — they actually spiked.
One was “Libertarian Party,” according to Google Trends, and as illustrated by this graph.
And the second was the Libertarian Party’s 2012 presidential nominee, who is seeking the nomination again this year.

And conservatives great and small approved.
And finally one tweep opined:

That person should realize that this was what conservatives said in 1992, when Ross Perot, running as an independent, bled nearly 20 percent of the vote from the Republican candidate. As a result, he handed the election to a Democrat who was only able to garner 43 percent of the popular vote.
That Democrat was Bill Clinton — Hillary’s husband — and we were stuck with him for eight years.
