Ted Cruz would handle a young heckler just like he would handle any other child who misbehaves.

While explaining his “file your taxes on a postcard” proposal at a LaPorte, Indiana campaign event Sunday, a young boy yelled out “You suck” to the Texas Republican senator.

“Apparently, there’s a young boy who’s had some problems,” Cruz said. The boy shouted something else to Cruz before repeating, “You suck!”

“Thank you son,” the GOP presidential hopeful said. “You know, one of the things that hopefully someone has told you is that children should actually speak with respect.”

After the whistles and thunderous applause that remark earned Cruz died down, he directed a zinger against the GOP presidential front-runner, which once again fired up his supporters.

“Imagine what a different world it would be if someone had told Donald Trump that.”

As the boy was escorted out of the hall, Cruz indicated how he would have handled the situation in his own home.

“You know, in my household, when a child behaves that way, they get a spanking,” he said, once again earning cheers from his supporters. “And you know, that really comes down to who we are as a people.”
