‘Victory song’ Hillary played after her NY primary win– let’s just say it had folks laughing

Many took to Twitter Tuesday night to discuss not only Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s primary victory in New York, but the song she chose as she came to the stage to celebrate the win.

Clinton soundly defeated self-proclaimed Democratic Socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont in the Empire State primary 58 percent to 42 percent, taking away 135 delegates to Sanders’ 104, according to The New York Times.

But the discussion on Twitter was more about the former first lady’s choice of song as she came to the stage for her victory speech  — “Empire State of Mind” by Jay-Z featuring Alicia Keys.

While more serious people were focusing on the speech from the left, center or, right, others decided to have a laugh with the song:

Earlier this week, the would-be Democratic presidential nominee appeared on “The Breakfast Club” on New York radio station 105.1 contending she always carries hot sauce. While Clinton has been accused of pandering, Bloomberg Politics managing editor Mark Halperin noted on MSNBC’s Morning Joe Tuesday that he has seen it on multiple occasions.
