Trump’s campaign versus the Republican establishment.

That was the subject of Judge Jeanine Pirro’s opening statement Saturday on “Justice with Judge Jeanine.”

But there were a few things that critics say she should have mentioned — including the $20,000 in donations she reportedly took from him several years ago.

The Observer reported:

In the 2006 AG’s race, Mr. Trump donated $20,000 to the coffers of Republican Jeanine Pirro, a few months before he started giving to Andrew Cuomo, who went on to win, with a little more than $20,000 in Mr. Trump’s cash.

“The Republicans actually take the cake,” Pirro said to the viewers.

“They are not even hiding what they plan to do. They are about to change the rules, ignore the votes of people who waited in line for hours and invalidate the votes of people who have never voted before, and put in a candidate they think is good for them. Whatever happened to your vote matters? Not only is that infuriating, it is un-American,” Pirro argued.

In addition, she interviewed the Republican front-runner later on her show.

In addition to donating $20,000 to the judge’s New York State Attorney General campaign, it has been reported that Trump had a close business relationship with Pirro’s former husband, Al Pirro,

Jeff Dunetz reported in The Lid several months ago:

Before I go on, since the Judge didn’t mention it allow me to point out her financial ties to Trump. New York Magazine once described her ex-husband Al Pirro as “Westchester’s most influential real-estate lawyer, a man Donald Trump keeps on retainer”

Variety said, in 2007 “Sir Pirro, a wily and wildly successful real estate attorney, has a somewhat checkered past that has played itself out quite publicly in the New York media. Indeed he has long-standing professional relationships with such high-profile individuals as The Donald (Trump),”

His $20,000 donation to Pirro’s attorney general campaign was made long before Trump was a presidential candidate and Pirro was a Fox News commentator. Although there was nothing unethical about their relationship, it should have probably been mentioned.

During the friendly interview, the real estate mogul mentioned their relationship at about the 6:15 mark.

“I’ve known you for a while before your great television career and you were an incredible lawyer in New York, and an incredible D.A.,” he said. “And I mean you did an amazing job.”

That would have been the ideal time to bring up the donation and her then-husband’s business relationship with Trump.

Conservative blogger Soopermexican called out the judge for her omission, calling her a “mindless Trump supporter.”
