‘Sniveling coward . . . leave her the hell alone’: Cruz is mad now

An angry Sen. Ted Cruz blasted Republican presidential rival Donald Trump Thursday for posting an unflattering photo of his wife on social media, calling him a “sniveling coward.”

“I don’t get angry often,” he told reporters. “But if you mess with my wife, you mess with my kids, that’ll do it every time.”

Then, with a pointed finger, he addressed Trump as though he were standing in front of him.

“Donald, you’re a sniveling coward and leave Heidi the hell alone.”

He wouldn’t answer a reporter’s question as to whether he would support the front-runner if he became the nominee.

“I’m going to beat him for the nomination,” he said.

The brouhaha began when a Cruz super PAC targeted Mormons with a photo of Trump’s wife Melania posing nude for a magazine spread just prior to the Utah primary.

“Donald does seem to have an issue with women. Donald doesn’t like strong women,” he said, calling him a “loud, New York bully.”

“Real men don’t try to bully women. That’s not an action of strength. That’s an action of weakness. It’s an action of fear. It’s an action of a small and petty man who is intimidated by strong women.”

Trump responded Thursday to the attack in a posting on Twitter that offered no apology for his actions, and even blamed his rival for starting the fight.
