Fed-up Arizona sheriff BLASTS reckless, lawless Obama admin; they’ve ‘handcuffed Border Patrol’

Arizona Sheriff Paul Babeu slammed the White House over its immigration policy, accusing the Obama administration of preventing border patrol agents from doing their jobs.

The Pinal County sheriff, along with border patrol agents and union leaders, spoke out at a press conference Tuesday blasting the administration for telling them to stay away from drug and human trafficking hotspots along the border, reported 3TV News. Not assigning agents to high traffic areas is intentionally misleading the American people into believing the border is secure, Babeu noted, according to a Pinal County Sheriff’s Office statement.

“This administration has handcuffed the Border Patrol,” Babeu said, accusing the White House of politicizing immigration issues.

National Border Patrol Labor Council President Brandon Judd said Obama “has manipulated the data, had agents assigned to low traffic areas and attempted to quiet dissent by calling those who question his approach as misinformed without offering any evidence to support these allegations.”

“The president is bypassing Congress by legislating through policy,” said Judd. “These policies in essence are granting amnesty to thousands, if not millions, of persons who enter the country illegally.”

Babeu pointed to figures indicating a 25 percent increase in illegal immigrant traffic and 102 percent increase in unaccompanied juveniles as a reason to increase and support patrol agents. “What we see from this administration is an actual reduction at a time we should be providing more support to secure our border,” he said.

Blasting Border Patrol Commissioner Gil Kerlikowske, Babeu said agents “have a leader in Kerlikowske who says if they don’t agree with the Obama administration and this lawlessness that’s happening that they can go find another job.”

“Well, I have a problem with that,” he said, according to 3TV.

“This stand-down order includes a requirement that the whereabouts of illegals released are not to be tracked, which places the finishing touches on President Obama’s plan to completely dismantle our immigration laws,” Babeu said. “We appeal to the American people and our elected members of Congress to join our effort to stop President Obama and this reckless lawlessness.”

Babeu announced that he was sending an official letter requesting the US House and Senate Judiciary, Homeland Security and Oversight Committees in Congress to investigate.
