Showtime’s ‘The Circus’ sweeps through CPAC – why it’s the greatest political reality show on earth

If you haven’t caught the fever, there’s still time.

A few genius minds turned this year’s presidential race into a reality show. A genuine half-hour weekly reality show –  and it’s become the hottest thing to hit Showtime since “Homeland.”

“The Circus: Inside the Greatest Political Show on Earth,” has sucked in fans who tune in to see what presidential candidates are really like on the campaign trail.

The weekly on-the-road coverage cut into a gripping 30-minute package has been a huge success. And viewers seem to agree with the media’s rave reviews

The crowd at CPAC was giddy to see star Mark McKinnon, political strategist and famous adviser for George W. Bush, sweep through with his crew, filming this week’s episode, “The Reckoning.”

BPR was invited to “be one of the posse” for the night. McKinnon shared secrets of the show’s success.

If you don’t get Showtime, you can still catch the show here.

Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, of MSNBC’s “With All Due Respect,” are co-hosts. The three stars are embedded in different campaigns each week.
