Savannah Guthrie, co-anchor of NBC’s “Today,” made for a really awkward moment on Wednesday when she … well, put her foot in her mouth.
While wrapping up an interview with Oscar-winning Spanish beauty Penélope Cruz, who is starring in the upcoming movie “Zoolander 2,” Guthrie asked the Hollywood star about her alleged “ugly feet.”
“I think you said it, despite what you look like, you have ugly feet,” Guthrie said.
“No, no, no, no,” Cruz quickly interjected, taken aback by the remark. “I haven’t said that. I’m OK. I’m OK with my feet.”
Clearly, Cruz was not appreciative of the comment, but once it was established that her feet were not ugly, the tension went away as if by a soothing foot massage.
