Dr. Phil McGraw had strong words for the current culture in America and the entitled generation that has been created.
Appearing on Fox News’ “The Kelly File” on Thursday, McGraw discussed the culture of narcissistic, fame-obsessed individuals who are focused on themselves.
“We do have a generation that, I think, we have raised with a great degree of entitlement,” said McGraw, who believes we need to stop rewarding bad behavior.
He shared the example of a guest in his upcoming show who chased the dream of becoming a rock star and destroyed his family in the process. “He has basically tried to buy fame, has bled his family – his mother and father – for $1.7 million,” McGraw said.
The psychologist shared that people ask him all the time what is wrong with America.”This is the greatest country in the world, this is the greatest people in the world, but sometimes we forget common sense,” said McGraw.
“We’ve got to stop rewarding bad behavior in America. When people don’t work and produce, then they need to get kicked to the curb,” McGraw added.
“Get a damn job. Carry your own weight. It’s just that simple.”
