Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump suggested it’s no accident that Barack Obama made his first appearance at a U.S. mosque as president, but he was as baffled as the rest of the country by the mosque he chose to visit.
Appearing Wednesday on Fox News’ “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren,” the real estate tycoon said it may be an indication of where the president is more “comfortable.”
Even if the gender equality folks who make up Obama’s base disagree.
“I don’t have much thought, I think he can go to lots of places,” Trump said. “I don’t know, maybe he feels comfortable there.”
“There are a lot of places he can go, and he chose a mosque,” he added.
Not just any mosque, though.
The Islamic Society of Baltimore facility Obama visited Wednesday is under FBI surveillance, according to Investor’s Business Daily.
It’s inconceivable that the Secret Service did not know this, which suggests the president’s actions were little more than an in-your-face move toward those concerned about homegrown jihadists following the terrorist attack in San Bernardino.
And the ties to terrorism go even deeper, extending all the way to Osama bin Laden.
The FBI began monitoring the Islamic Society of Baltimore in 2010 as “a breeding ground for terrorists, after arresting a member for plotting to blow up a federal building,” IBD reported. The FBI reportedly put an undercover agent in the mosque.
Antonio Martinez, aka Muhammad Hussain, a 25-year-old Muslim convert, said on social media he wanted to join the ranks of the “mujahideen” in “Pakistan or Afghanistan,” and was sentenced to 25 years in prison in 2012.
“He indicated that if the military continued to kill their Muslim brothers and sisters, they would need to expand their operation by killing U.S. Army personnel where they live,” an FBI special agent wrote.
And THIS is the facility Obama felt was the most suitable for his first-ever visit in 7 years?
