Trump promises to pay legal fees if crowd ‘knocks the crap out of’ tomato-throwers

At his final campaign rally Monday before the Iowa caucus, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump told his supporters to be on the lookout for any tomato throwers, and to “knock the crap out of” them.

“The security guys, we have wonderful security guys,” he told the Cedar Rapids, Iowa crowd. “They said, ‘Mr. Trump, there may be somebody with tomatoes in the audience.'”

And then he instructed his supporters what to do with any such protesters.

“So if you see somebody getting ready to throw a tomato, knock the crap out of them, would you? Seriously,” he said. “I promise you I will pay for the legal fees. I promise. I promise.”

He didn’t say whether he would do the time for them if they were convicted of battery — I suspect not.

Here’s a clip.

The real estate mogul’s fans loved it — others weren’t quite so sure.

Can you imagine people really taking Trump up on his offer? A dangerous mob scene with punches, maybe concealed weapons, and potential grievous casualties all around.
I am pro Trump, but I am finding it hard to believe that he would actually call for inciting a riot. WAS he being serious, or just showing machismo?
All you supporters can rah rah this all you want, but I don’t find it appealing or humorous. Sorry.
