The divisive left in America deserve credit, they understand what amounts to their bread and butter — the race card — and they ride that pony into the ground.
David Brock, the liberal founder of Media Matters, appeared Tuesday on MSNBC and brazenly accused Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump of calling President Obama a black rapist.
Brock, who heads the pro-Hillary super PAC Correct the Record, was reacting to Trump’s recent take on the 2008 presidential election that saw early favorite Hillary Clinton fall to then-Sen. Barack Obama in the Democratic primary.
“She was going to beat – she was favored to win – and she got schlonged,” Trump said Monday at a campaign rally. “She lost. She lost.”
It wasn’t enough for Brock to tag the comment as sexist, he went for the two-fer and played the tattered race card.
“What we’re gonna see, and what we got a taste of last night, was the misogynistic attacks on Hillary Clinton, which also had a racial appeal, as well,” Brock said. “The idea of a black rapist using the schlong to defeat Hillary, I mean, I think that’s what that really was about.”
MSNBC host Alex Wagner offer about as much of a challenge to the over-the-top assertion as one might afford a pesky gnat.
By design, Brock was also quick to associate the entire Republican Party to Trump’s remarks.
“It’s really deeply troubling that the base of the party likes what they’re seeing in Trump,” he said.
