Stars and Stripes cover San Bernardino killers’ apartment as family members return for items

Family members of San Bernardino gunman Syed Rizwan Farook showed up Saturday at the apartment he shared with his jihadi bride Tashfeen Malik to find that the entrance had been draped with the Stars and Stripes.

The Muslim couple had become radicalized and launched a deadly attack at the Inland Regional Center on December 2 that claimed the lives of 14 people and injured 22 others.

The terrorist’s mother, Rafia Sultana Farook, who also lived at the apartment, arrived with her other son, Navy veteran Syed Raheel Farook, and brother-in-law Farhan Khan to retrieve some personal items, the Press Enterprise reported.

The brother said “no comments please” when approached by the media, the newspaper reported.

The American flag decorated a piece of plywood covering the entrance to the home where thousands of rounds of ammunition were stored. A home that also served as a pipe bomb factory for the terrorists.

It’s unclear who affixed the red, white and blue flag on the door.

The landlord was on hand at the same time as the family, and replaced the board when the family left about three hours later, the Press Enterprise reported.

Items removed and placed into a U-Haul truck included furniture and appliances, as well as baby toys and a crib.

The terror couple left their now-orphaned six-month-old baby with Farook’s mother before going on the shooting spree. The baby girl is in state custody and Farook’s sister is reportedly trying to gain custody.
