Trump, Trump, Trump: Megyn Kelly wants to know what happened to terror?

Megyn Kelly is fired up about Donald Trump.

The Fox News host could not hide her frustration Tuesday as she called out the Republican candidate and the media for shifting attention to Trump’s proposed ban on Muslims entering the U.S. and away from terrorism.

“Less than a week after the worst terror attack on America since 9/11, we are in a full-blown media circus,” Kelly said. “Not about these two killers and their terror ties, but about something that a man who is not the president would do if by chance his party nominates him to be president and then the same general electorate that elected Barack Obama twice happens to choose him, Donald Trump, as their president.”

Kelly pointed to the national, and international attention Trump’s comments have sparked, noting reactions from both parties, the White House and even the Pentagon.

But, Kelly seemed most frustrated by the media.

“But reaction from our leaders and our elected officials was nothing compared to the non-stop, incessant drumbeat of media outlets,” she said, which played clips of Trump “ad-nauseum.”

“Do you remember terror?” Kelly asked, amazed at over 18 hours of media coverage of Trump’s ban proposal in a 24-hour period.

“We will not be devoting an hour or a half hour or 20 minutes to what Trump said tonight,” she said.

Howie Kurtz, host of “Media Buzz” and guest on “The Kelly File,” said the media was forced to cover the Trump story because, considering all the reactions, “any news organization that wasn’t all over it would be guilty of malpractice.”

Kurtz pointed out how Trump regularly seizes the media spotlight in what Kelly described as a “lather, rinse, repeat” strategy for attention. Kelly accused the media of being “complicit” in the process, “marching like lemmings” to Trump’s moves.

Fox News’ Marc Thiessen discussed how Trump’s comments actually help President Obama, Hillary Clinton and liberals by distracting from the real news. Thiessen also believes the rhetoric plays right into the hands of ISIS by confirming Americans are anti-Muslim, and said the focus on Trump instead of terrorism is “a huge propaganda victory for Islamic radicalism.”
