Ferguson area in chaos as witnesses say cops shot 18-year-old black male, cops say it was suicide

While much of America was watching the Republican presidential debate Wednesday, another controversy involving police and the death a young black male in a town nearby Ferguson, Missouri was underway.

Witnesses are hotly disputing police reports that an 18-year-old turned a gun on himself after firing upon officers.

Normandy Police Cpl. Tameika Sanders said the suspect was uncooperative, and after walking away from police fired at officers as they tried to approach him, local KTVI reported.

According to police, the officers returned fire only after a taser didn’t work, but the suspect was not hit, KTVI reported.

After temporarily losing sight of the teen, officers said they heard a gunshot and found the suspect “lying on the ground and unresponsive,” according to KTVI.

The incident was documented on Twitter, and is already becoming a hotly debated topic. To make matters worse, there are conflicting reports.

So far, witnesses coming forth are stating the teen was shot by police. Video captured the moment where the mother of the teen can be heard screaming, “don’t shoot my baby.”

The dramatic video added fuel to the fire and will no doubt, make it harder for police to prove it was a suicide. For now, that is how the case is being handled.

The suspect died this morning from his wounds.

Much of social media isn’t buying police reports:

The father of the teen spoke out saying “it was Ferguson man,” clearly indicting police for the shooting.

This story is still developing. Buckle up, and stay tuned.
