Donald Trump’s campaign stop in South Carolina turned into a love-fest when a woman interrupted his campaign speech by fainting.

CNN had just cut to live coverage of the event in the small city of Anderson, just across the river from Georgia, a short drive from Clemson University.  As Trump was about to begin speaking, a man shouted for a medic.

Trump paused to ask “are they okay?”

“She just fainted,” he said, adding “You know what? That means she was excited,” prompting laughs from the crowd.

“Those are my best fans.  The ones that faint, I love the most,” Trump said, after checking that the woman was being cared for.

While he waited, people in the crowd shouted their love for Trump, to which he replied three times, “I love you too!”

“But I love her, and I want to make sure she’s okay.”

CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” and reporters live-tweeted the moment.

And Trump fans joined the love-in on Twitter.

One tweet noted the difference in energy between Trump’s campaign and and that of Jeb Bush.

The last time a politician attracted this kind of devotion, it was Barack Obama. The tables may indeed be turning. Watch CNN’s video below.
