Ambassador Stevens’ emails leading up to Benghazi attack will give you CHILLS; Gowdy says nobody cared

dickerson-gowdyCountering claims that the House Select Committee on Benghazi is unearthing nothing new, its chairman, Rep. Trey Gowdy, indicated that none of the previous seven committees had bothered to obtain the late Ambassador Chris Stevens’ emails.

“How did they miss Ambassador Stevens’ emails? None of the seven previous committees bothered to access the emails of our ambassador,” the South Carolina Republican told CBS News’ “Face the Nation” host John Dickerson, Sunday, at about the 4:30 mark.

“If you want a window into Libya and what was happening in the weeks and months before these four were killed, why would you not look at the Ambassador’s emails?”

Gowdy indicated that the emails showed that Stevens began requesting additional security almost from the day he arrived in Libya, on June 7.

“And on one occasion, he even joked in an email ‘maybe we should ask another government to pay for our security upgrades because our government isn’t willing to do it.’ So if you want to know what’s happening in Libya, you have to look at his emails,” Gowdy said.

He was puzzled why then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who is scheduled to appear before the committee Thursday, received numerous intelligence updates from Clinton confidante Sidney Blumenthal, but apparently ignored Stevens’ reports.

“I want to know why certain things made it to your inbox, Madam Secretary, but the plaintive pleadings of our own ambassador, that you put in place, for more security never bothered to make it to your inbox,” said Gowdy.

Charlene Lamb testified that it was not about money. She said that Secretary Clinton thought that if we had a lighter “security footprint” that it would make us appear less threatening and less likely to be attacked. In fact, it made us look weak and made it more LIKELY that we were attacked. That they asked for additional help and were denied should result in negligent homicide charges.

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) appeared to leak the name of a CIA source by accident while responding to a scathing letter from Rep. Elijah Cummings (R-MD). Cummings wrote Gowdy early Sunday demanding that he apologize to Hillary Clinton for falsely claiming she mishandled classified information by forwarding an email containing the CIA source’s name to an aide. His letter noted the CIA notified the select committee on Saturday that the email contained no information it deemed classified.

maybe Ambassador Stevens did not contribute to the clinton foundation and therefore was of no consequence to the ” I don’t Care girl” Hillary
How much of a cut was she going to get from sid and his business partners. that gave his e-mails more weight with her

I see and hear Trey Gowdy… He is the only one I see and hear. I would like to ask one question to the American people. Where is your congressman/woman? For that matter, where is mine??

Stevens emails show a request for more security and Hillary took emails from Sid Blumenthal rather than address the security requests. Stevens and others died and Sidney is still alive. Why is Hillary hiding so many emails? I would think she would be indicted by now given others are serving time for less.

Looks to me like the Ambassador is faulting the Republican’s for cutting the security budget and not the SoS.
