Unfazed, Carson doubles down on gun rights and Holocaust so even libs can understand

carsonRepublican presidential candidate, Dr. Ben Carson, defended gun rights as a bulwark against government tyranny, claiming that Adolf Hitler’s mass murder of Jews “would have been greatly diminished” if the people had not been disarmed by the Nazi regime.

Carson was asked, during his appearance on CNN’s “The Situation Room” Thursday, to clarify statements he made in his new book, “A More Perfect Union,” that suggest gun control led to the Holocaust.

“There were a number of countries where tyranny reigned and before it happened, they disarmed the people. That was the point. Noah Webster said — when he was talking about tyranny — that the people of America would never suffer tyranny because they are armed,” Carson told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer. “I think the likelihood of Hitler being able to accomplish his goals would have been greatly diminished if the people had been armed.”

It was a powerful military machine, you know, the Nazis,” Blitzer said. “They could have simply gone in and wiped out communities.”

“I’m telling you there’s a reason these dictatorial people take the guns first,” Carson said.

Carson, who is polling second in the Republican race behind Donald Trump, has defended gun rights as a guard against government tyranny and said that mass shootings are a mental health issue.
