Racist yoga hits Seattle, no whites allowed! ‘Obama’s America’

YogaA yoga studio in Seattle is bringing back segregation with a new class where white people are not allowed, and one local disc jockey is fighting mad.

Radio host, Dori Monson of KIRO, blasted the class at Rainier Beach Yoga in Seattle which sent an email recently soliciting students for a class titled “Yoga For People Of Color.”

The class is described in the email as being for all genders and sexual identities, but specifically targets “lesbian, bisexual, gay, queer and trans-friendly/affirming,” and people who identify as “African American/black/of the African Diaspora, Asian, South Asian, West Asian/Arab/Middle Eastern, Pacific Islander, First Nations/Alaskan Native/Native American/Indigenous, Chican/Latin, or Multiracial/Mixed-Race.”

The email concludes by declaring “white friends, allies and partners are respectfully asked not to attend,” according to MyNorthwest.com.

Monson said although he doesn’t mind the segregated class, what angers him is that those who applaud this class would be outraged by a “whites only” class.

“It would be a lead story on national news,” Monson said on his show. “It would be blared across all the websites about the racist yoga class in Seattle. And the fact is, this yoga class is every bit as racist as a bunch of white people who say they don’t want to be around somebody of color. That’s why I wouldn’t want to attend either one of those classes … The fact is, they are both racist.”

One of the class founders, Teresa Wang, was asked by the show what would happen if a white person came to the class.

“Well, it’s a class for people of color, so he would be coming to that class knowing that we’re really clear about who we are asking to come to class, so…I’m not really sure because it hasn’t happened to us,” she said. “So I don’t really know.”

According to Monson, State Attorney General Bob Ferguson previously stated on his show that he would go after any business that practiced exclusionary tactics against any group of people.  Monson wants to know if Ferguson will be true to his word.

“Now we’re gonna find out if my instincts about the attorney general and about our state government [are right],” he said. “Using the power of government to go after the Christian florist in the Tri-Cities who didn’t want to do the gay wedding ceremony. Will they also go after the yoga studio that discriminates against people based on their skin color?”

The class was also blasted by social media users.
