‘Biggest discrimination is against CHRISTIANS!’ How Jindal turned a Muslim question around

bobby-jindalRepublican presidential hopeful Bobby Jindal turned a question on Muslim discrimination around to his advantage by making the issue one of Christian discrimination at the undercard CNN GOP presidential debate Wednesday.

The Louisiana governor, a frequent critic of radical Islam, was part of the early debate with former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, former New York Gov. George Pataki, and South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham.

Jindal was asked to comment on the Muslim student who was led from his high school in Texas for bringing a homemade clock to school, when authorities mistook it for a bomb.

“How would you, as a president, strike a balance between vigilance and discrimination?” moderator Jake Tapper asked.

After stating that “We don’t discriminate against anybody,” Jindal put the onus on Muslim leaders to denounce radical Islam and criticized President Obama’s own inability to do so.

“We’re at war today against radical Islamic extremists,” he emphasized, before adding in response to a follow-up question that the group most discriminated against in the United States is Christians trying to live up to the tenets of their faith.

“Look, right now, the biggest discrimination going on is against Christians — business owners and individuals who believe in traditional forms of marriage,” he said, drawing applause from the audience.
