Some presidential contenders just don’t know when to shut up.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, for instance, is known for his brazen candor. But he’s probably asking himself why in the world he ever decided share details about his personal birth control preferences with folks at a New Hampshire diner.
Christie, who is married with four children, apparently felt he needed to let folks know that despite being Catholic, he’s used birth control… “and not just the rhythm method.”
Reporter Jon Ward tweeted Christie’s revelation Tuesday morning:
“I’m a catholic but I’ve used birth control and not just the rhythm method” Christie says

Yikes. That tidbit of information was too much for some social media users, who wished Christie had just left well enough alone when he released a video earlier Tuesday slamming Hillary Clinton for her defense of Planned Parenthood.
Whoa. @GovChristie goes big on Planned Parenthood and Hillary Clinton -> https://t.co/qCyfNgHd0N pic.twitter.com/iocWIVZHs5 — Charlie Spiering (@charliespiering) August 4, 2015
But, it’s too late now. Unfortunately, high-praise for Christie’s Hillary slam turned into mockery, as only a tweet about personal birth control use by a presidential nominee could.

All wrong. And some folks feel like they have to take some sort of action to ward off any ill effects.
