2 men sought after shots fired on soldiers at US Joint Forces military camp

Two men opened fire on soldiers in training at a sprawling military camp in Mississippi Tuesday, igniting a widespread search but causing no injuries.

According to WDAM, the incident occurred shortly after noon, when shots were fired on soldiers at the Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center near Hattiesburg.

After the shooting, authorities were searching for a red pickup truck with the words “Broken Arrow” on the windshield, WDAM reported.

A vehicle that appeared to match that description was found in Perry County, one of the three counties the huge camp sits on, but turned out not to be related, WDAM reported. Two men questioned in connection with that vehicle were released, WDAM reported.
