A St. Pete Polls survey released on Wednesday shows the New York businessman with 26 percent support, with Jeb Bush in second place with 20 percent. Wisconsin Gov. Scott calls for investigation of Florida Planned Parenthood sites – Gov. Rick Scott has ordered an investigation of 16 statewide Planned Parenthood offices amid claims from an anti-abortion advocacy group that the health services center sold body parts of aborted fetuses for profit. The advocacy group, the Center for Medical Progress, has released a series of videos in recent weeks showing undercover operatives interviewing Planned Parenthood officials. Read more

Hillary Clinton to call for lifting U.S.-Cuba embargo during stump speech in Miami – In her first visit to Florida as a 2016 presidential contender, Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton is scheduled to deliver a major policy speech on Friday in Miami in which she will call for lifting the U.S.-Cuba embargo. Her campaign said in a press release that Clinton “will highlight that Republican arguments against increased engagement are part of failed policies of the past and contend that we must look to the future in order to advance a core set of values and interests to engage with Cubans and address human rights abuses.” Read more

Florida man arrested for planning ISIS-inspired terrorist attack on Key West beach – A South Florida man inspired by the terrorist group ISIS is behind bars after allegedly planning to use a “backpack bomb” in a plot to attack a Key West beach. The Department of Justice said Harlem Suarez, 23, of Key West was arrested Monday and appeared in court Tuesday after describing his plans for a terrorist attack and trying to purchase explosives from undercover federal agents, according to CBS Miami.
