Liberals couldn’t even wait for the blood to dry.
A gunman described only as a 58-year-old white male opened fire in a Louisiana movie theater “gun-free” zone Thursday night, killing two and injuring nine others before turning the gun on himself.
Before the bodies were cold in Lafayette, the political clamor started on the left for more gun control.
Fox News reported:
Chief Jim Craft told reporters that authorities had identified the shooter as a 58-year-old white man, but did not release his name, citing the ongoing investigation. Craft later said that the gunman had a criminal record, but had not been in trouble with the law recently. He did not elaborate further, and added that no motive had been established. Early Friday, Craft said that investigators were investigating possible addresses for the shooter in multiple Southern states.
The chief said that one of the injured victims was in critical condition and the ages of the wounded ranged from the late teens to early 60s. Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal said that one victim had been released from a local hospital.
Late Thursday, authorities said they had found the gunman’s vehicle with a suspicious package inside. A bomb squad and hazmat team were called in and the area near the theater was evacuated. Minutes later, an Associated Press reporter on the scene heard a number of short bursts similar to firecrackers coming from that vicinity. Craft later said that the suspicious object was found to be harmless.
On the heels of any shooting, all liberal minds turn to gun control, and BuzzFeed News Editor Rachel Zarrell was no exception. She tweeted:
Let’s just give everyone guns, right? It’s in the goddamn constitution. https://t.co/auI1yorXy5

Don’t pray. Push for gun control. — Rachel Zarrell (@rachelzarrell) July 24, 2015
The backlash was immediate from conservatives sick of liberals using any tragedy — or instance of insanity — to push their political agenda.
@rachelzarrell if you were in that theater you might have a different perspective right about now. Take guns from law abiders. Great idea. — Andy Martin (@andym1134) July 24, 2015
@rachelzarrell Wow, how heartless, thoughtless, and faithless. Unreal.

Ellen Carmichael, a Louisiana native and president of the Virginia-based media consulting firm The Lafayette Co., was sickened by Zarrell’s opportunism:
.@BuzzFeedBen, while I’m accounting for my loved ones, this shit: http://t.co/A8KyJWrG3V Horrible. Horrible. Horrible.

Ben Howe, RedState writer and contributor to TheBlaze, tweeted:
This is a friggin news editor? What a disgrace, @Buzzfeed. https://t.co/EhmFXhSZwm

Police have given sketchy details about the gunman.
According to Fox News, “The Daily Advertiser reported that the White House was looking for a phone number to contact City-Parish President Joey Durel for President Barack Obama to express his condolences.”
This was the same evening the shooting took place.
Meanwhile, the family members of Kate Steinle, the woman who was killed by an illegal alien in San Francisco on July 1, are still waiting for their condolences.
On the other hand, Obama indicated he would veto any bill that would strip “sanctuary cities” of federal funds. San Francisco is a sanctuary city.
