Judge ORDERS top Obama officials into courtroom; sick of ‘disregard for the law,’ Texas gov says

megynkellygregabbott0709Fox News host Megyn Kelly was livid Wednesday when she learned that senior Obama administration officials have been flouting a federal district judge’s order to cease implementing the president’s executive actions on immigration.

After federal officials repeatedly issued extended work permits to illegal immigrants in violation of his order, U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen has ordered top officials within the Department of Homeland Security to appear and show why they should not be held in contempt.

The order even extends to DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson.

“This judge has about had it,” Kelly said, while interviewing Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Wednesday night’s “The Kelly File.” Texas is the lead plaintiff of 26 states in a lawsuit against the Obama administration.

Kelly noted that Hanen originally gave the administration the benefit of the doubt that its violation of his order was inadvertent.

“They told him that they were going to obey the law, that they weren’t going to issue papers to these illegal immigrants because he said they couldn’t,” she said.

“Then they did it, then he said ‘you’d better undo it,’ and they continue to flout his orders!” Kelly said.

Abbott compared the administration’s actions in this case to San Francisco declaring itself to be a sanctuary city.

“It’s a complete disregard for the law,” Abbott said.

“It seems like this area of the Obama administration believes it is above the law, and does not have to comply with it, and in doing so is putting Americans in harm’s way,” he added.

Abbott, a former trial judge and Texas Supreme Court justice, said that, “It is highly extraordinary for a judge to order someone of the level of Jeh Johnson to come into court and answer for their conduct.”

He added that, “This is happening only because the Obama administration has disrespectfully disregarded a direct court order” to cease implementing the president’s executive action.

Kelly wondered whether “this administration has sacrificed its fidelity to the law in the area of immigration.”

Abbott reminded Kelly that the president had said on 22 different occasions that he didn’t have the authority to issue executive orders granting illegal immigrants legal status.

“And then he issued the order,” he said. “That is demonstrative of their disregard of the law.”
