Obama’s Chicago priest threatens NRA over city’s gun violence; gun lovers fire back

The Rev. Michael Pfleger, the rogue Catholic priest from Chicago, blamed the National Rifle Association Saturday for the violence in his city, saying the pro-gun group “will pay for the murder of our children.”

Flanked by infamous race hustler Jesse Jackson, Pfleger was participating in a rally outside a gun store in the suburbs of Chicago in support of a national campaign, Stop Bad Apple Gun Dealers, launched by the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, according to WLS-TV Chicago.

“I’m not a gun grabber, I’m a life lover,” the previously suspended priest said outside Chuck’s Gun Shop & Range. “And I love life more than the death that they are perpetrating.”

Looking past the failed liberal policies in urban America, Pfleger blamed the violence in “Gangland Chicago” on the NRA and gun dealers.

“I’m just tired, tired of the NRA,” he said. “Tired of them prostituting themselves and buying politicians in this country.”

Pfleger, a “long-time friend” of President Obama, according to the Chicago Tribune, makes Jeremiah Wright, the president’s former black liberation theology-preaching pastor, look moderate.

And the controversial preacher has come under fire in the past for threatening to “snuff” out the owner of the gun shop, John Riggio, according to CNS News.

“We’re going to find you and snuff you out,” he said in a 2008 protest outside the store. “You’re going to hide, but like a rat we’re going to catch you and pull you out.”

Comforting words from a Catholic priest…. who threatened the wrath of God against the NRA Saturday.

“At the end of the day you can argue with us [and] you can call us names, but you got to deal with God,” he said. “And the blood of our children is on your hands — and you will pay for the murder of our children.”

After guns-right blowback to his rhetoric came flying in Saturday, Pfleger took to social media to defend himself as any self-respecting Obama supporter would — he played the race card.

Even though he’s white.
