Levin takes on O’Reilly’s ‘very, very ignorant’ argument; calls Bill out for bullying Geller

Conservative radio host Mark Levin called Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly “very, very ignorant” for slamming blogger Pamela Geller’s decision to organize a Prophet Mohammad cartoon contest.

O’Reilly had called Geller and her American Freedom Defense Initiative “stupid” for orchestrating the contest, which was attacked by two gunmen in Garland, Texas. Islamic State militants took credit for the shooting.

O’Reilly criticized Geller for inciting violence with an event that would predictably provoke jihadists.

“Insulting the entire Muslim world is stupid,” O’Reilly said on his show last week.  “It does not advance the cause of liberty or get us any closer to defeating the savage jihad.”

Levin, though, argued that “the issue is not freedom of speech,” pointing out that no U.S. alliance was harmed by allowing a few cartoons of Muhammad to be displayed.

Even if some were offended, Levin said, “what does that say about the weakness of the people in the region?”

Levin was clear that he was not attacking O’Reilly personally, but he blasted the Fox News host for “bashing” and “bullying” Geller and “burping … such silliness on the air.”

“How preposterous for the 8-p.m.-er to project his bias, his opinion, in such an irrational and silly way,” Levin said.
