Geller and Trump at odds over Muhammad Art Exhibit: ‘What the hell is she doing. . . ?’

Potential 2016 Republican presidential contender Donald Trump wants to know what Pamela Geller was thinking when she organized the the Muhammad Art Exhibit and Contest in Garland, Texas, that was attacked by Muslim extremists.

“It looks like she’s just taunting everybody. What is she doing drawing Muhammad? It looks like she’s actually taunting people,” Trump said.

Host Elisabeth Hasselbeck pointed out that Geller, who was on the program earlier, said there wasn’t another way to defend free speech.

“They can’t do something else?” Trump asked. “What the hell is she doing and what is the purpose of it?”

During Geller’s appearance, she explained what she believes the purpose is.

“Inoffensive speech needs no protection. Offensive speech needs protection,” she said. “Are we to believe that if something offends you, if something insults you, that we should go out and kill people and that way we can get our way? Because that’s really the implication here.

“I’m not responsible for the violence conducted by others,” she added. “It’s outrageous that this would even be the morally inverted view of the media. That somehow because we drew a cartoon, that two gunmen with AK-47s tried to storm the building and shoot up innocent people and somehow they’re not responsible?”
