Woman caught texting at Correspondents’ Dinner during National Anthem setting off firestorm with appalling response

A CNN videographer captured something appalling at Saturday’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

While the band played the national anthem during the opening ceremony, he panned the camera around the room, catching everyone standing solemnly at attention with their right hand over their heart.

And then the cameraman zeroed in on one woman, intently texting on her smartphone, oblivious to what was going on around her.

A Twitter storm began immediately. She was scolded for her lack of respect:

Once she was busted, the woman identifying herself as Helena Andrews, followed the lead of most shamed politicians; Andrews lied and got snarky.
