Video: Four vacationing Swedish cops break up fight on NYC subway

Police detractors jumped on a recent New York City incident involving four vacationing Swedish police officers as proof that American cops are too violent.

The tourists were on their way to see Les Misérables on Broadway when a call for help rang out after two homeless began fighting on a subway train, according to the New York Post.

The off-duty officers subdued the two men without incident.

A video of the altercation showed that one of the combatants offered little resistance, but the other, apparently looking to take advantages of Eric Garner’s widely publicized death after a police officer’s chokehold, was decidedly melodramatic.

“I can’t breathe,” the man screamed — with a full lung.

“Take it easy,” one officer told him. “Sir, calm down, OK? Everything is going to be OK.”

New York’s finest eventually arrived and took the men into custody.

After the incident, the liberal website Raw Story pointed out that the four Swedish officers “showed it’s possible to subdue violent suspects without hurting them.”

Other liberals joined in the accolades.

“Nice of these Swedish cops to show the NYPD you can subdue a suspect without killing him,” the liberal website Crooks and Liars opined.

But then again, considering how much liberals strive to be like Europe, the adulation is not surprising.
