Sometimes signs of hope come from the most unlikely places.
The liberal bastion of San Francisco is not exactly the town one would expect to see anything positive regarding conservative firebrand Ted Cruz – yet dedicated street artists decorated the hilly streets over the weekend with posters that portrayed the Texas Republican as a modern-day superhero.
“Liberator: Ted Cruz 2016” read the posters in bold.
Cruz dressed as a superhero is flying through air with the caption, “I don’t work for the party bosses in Washington. I work for YOU!”
No reports have surfaced regarding how many San Fran hipster-heads may have exploded upon seeing the posters, but California is showing literal signs that it might be the place for a burgeoning underground Cruz movement.
Last year, Beverly Hills was the spot for Cruz posters that depicted the Texas congressman as a tattooed, cigarette smoking rebel.
The artists behind the posters – and many more Cruz supporters – see him as a rogue agent for “We the People” who’s not afraid to buck the establishment every chance he can get.
According to the team behind the San Francisco posters, “Cruz has the mild-mannered appearance of a Peter Parker or a Clark Kent, but when push comes to shove he has suited up and fought fearlessly for liberty,” Ben Shapiro’s Truth Revolt reported.
“Our country needs a man like Cruz, who cares deeply about the Republic and will do whatever it takes, including knocking out, metaphorically of course, the party bosses in Washington, on order to free us from the tentacles of a tyrannical federal government.”

It’s no wonder street artists with a soft spot for freedom are portraying Cruz the way they see him. Only time will tell if their creative strategy will resonate with other Californians.
