Judge Andrew Napolitano laced into California Gov. Jerry Brown for his new policy of imposing fines for lengthy showers.
“Who does this thug, who calls himself the governor of California, think he is?” Napolitano asked. “He can’t make up rules and impose punishments on his own. Only the legislature can do that.”
The Fox News contributor told guest host Stuart Varney on “Your World with Neil Cavuto” Monday that the governor’s actions are unconstitutional.
“This nonsense from the Oregon border to Mexico is being done by a dictator, not by the legislature,” he said.
Napolitano said there are steps the legislature can take that are uniform but rationing water for particular activities like taking a shower won’t be among them because “they do not want to tell their constituents how long to take a shower.”
Therefore, Brown is decreeing it himself.
Going around the legislature and imposing his own laws?
Perhaps Brown wants to run for president.
