Out of control! Death threats force Indiana pizzeria to close over gay wedding controversy

National liberal loathing for Indiana’s Restoration of Religious Freedom Act has finally found a home for the left’s newfound hatred for the Hoosier State.

And it’s a mom-and-pop pizza shop in a place called Walkerton.

Anybody who would find the people in that news broadcast a threat is simply  insane.

But according to a TMZ report, Memories Pizza has been forced to close its doors because of threatening phone calls and social media messages that have poured in since the restaurant was featured on a local television news report Wednesday night with one of the owners saying the pizzeria would not cater a gay wedding because of the family’s Christian beliefs.

“If a gay couple came in and wanted us to provide pizzas for their wedding, we would have to say no,” Crystal O’Connor told ABC News 57 . “We are a Christian establishment.”

Obviously, the national gay, lesbian, transgender, bisexual, questioning, queer, alternative lifestyle community can’t stand for that. Twitter came alive with hate messages, obscene “reviews” were posted on the restuarant site Yelp and, TMZ reported, threats were phoned in.

As The Blaze’s Dana Loesch reports, this is getting out of control.

“Conform, or we’ll destroy you. Love, The Tolerant Left.” @DLoesch Just got off phone with #MemoriesPizza; they’re considering never opening

That might sound extreme, until you remember the topic is a pizza shop in Walkerton, Ind.,   (pop. 2,248 in 2013) that nobody had heard of until a local news reporter wandered in on Wednesday night to ask a hypothetical question.

And the answer was hardly one of raving hatred.

“I don’t have a problem with gay people, I do not condone gay marriage and that’s what I said,” owner Kevin O’Connor told  the Daily Beast contacted on Thursday.

It doesn’t matter to the left that O’Connor’s speaking for at least half the country when he says that. And way more than half if you’re counting only the people who would consider having their wedding catered by a pizza joint.

They’re going to pretend Memories Pizza is the new Stonewall. But conservatives aren’t going to go along.

Fortunately, though, some people have kept their sense of humor.

The politicized Justice Department of Eric Holder is going to investigate threats against a Christian pizzeria by gay activists?

That is a laugh.
