Former Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele smashed Connecticut Governor Dan Malloy over his left-wing talking points on Indiana’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act.
The duo had a heated exchange on MSNBC’s “Hardball with Chris Matthews” Tuesday, where Malloy tried his best to tie the bill around the neck of the 2016 Republican presidential field.
“Republicans have not covered themselves in any glory. We have a whole bunch of candidates for president who’ve gone to defend this guy [Indiana Governor Mike Pence],” he said. “Hey, Jeb Bush, what were you thinking about? Cruz, what were you thinking about? Rubio, what were you thinking about? Do you really want to condemn gay people to second class citizenship in America today?”
“I couldn’t disagree with the governor more,” Steele replied. “He just needs to bring the crazy down a little on this.”
